Her Sacred Stillness

Learning to Hear God in the Quiet Moments

God has a way of speaking that does not try to compete with all the noise around us.
He does not push or pressure us.
He does not shout over the chaos or demand that we pay attention. Instead, He whispers.
Often, His whisper waits for us in the quiet moments we tend to overlook.
For many of us, quiet feels like a luxury—a rare pause between our responsibilities and the constant noise of life. But quiet is more than just the absence of sound; it is where we find God’s presence. In these moments, His voice becomes clearer, softer, and more personal.
Sometimes we think we need hours of silence, perfect peace, or a special retreat to hear God. But most of His whispers come during our ordinary days, in moments when our souls relax without us even realizing it.
  • In the quiet of early morning before the house wakes.
  • In the stillness of washing dishes.
  • In the pause between tasks.
  • In the slow breath you take after crying.
  • In the few minutes you rest before bed
God leans close.
And He whispers.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

John 10:27 (NLT)

His voice is not hidden.
It is simply gentle.
And to hear a gentle voice, you slow your pace, soften your heart, and lean in.
When we create small moments of quiet, even for just a few minutes, our souls start to notice God’s presence. We begin to see Him not only in big moments but also in gentle nudges, peaceful feelings, a verse that comes to mind, or the clarity we did not have before.
Hearing God is not about being perfect. It is about paying attention to Him.
  • He is speaking.
  • He is guiding.
  • He is comforting.
  • He is inviting you deeper.
  • You don’t need to force anything.
  • You don’t need to “be more spiritual.”
  • You don’t need to have long stretches of silence.
You just need to show up with an open and willing heart, and move a little slower than usual.
Because God is already in the quiet.
Waiting.
Whispering.
He calls your name with the tenderness of someone who loves you deeply.
